What's this?
Nobody knew he had seen it. When teenager Danny Cahill witnesses a corrupt cop murder his bootlegger father, the Japanese family entrusted to raise him is unaware of the plot being hatched in the room above their garage.
As Danny faces rising suspicions for having carried out his plot, his romance with Emi Tanaka is derailed by her family’s internment. Seeking refuge in the Navy, Danny is unfairly cast as a fraud despite his valor in battle. Matters only get worse after the war when newspaper accounts brand him as a killer.
Spanning Prohibition to JFK’s presidency, The Sins That Follow careens through underworld Los Angeles, Manzanar, war in the Pacific, Hollywood, and San Diego, where a surprise encounter with a mixed-race collegian reveals the ultimate twist.
