However, after witnessing the harrowing realities of the war, their motivations take a haunting turn, and they ultimately return to Spain driven by overwhelming Catholic guilt.
So far I've written a children’s "time slip" trio, two family autobiographies, a 2CV travel memoir, and a cookery book. This book marks my debut historical novel.The inspiration struck while living in Spain, sparked by conversations with an elderly neighbour in an Andalucian village near the Axarquía mountains. His firsthand accounts of guerrilla warfare ignited a deep fascination with the Spanish Civil War. Years later, discovering a total void in fiction exploring the dual-perspective of Irish involvement, where Irishmen fought for both Nationalists and Republicans, I set out to research and fill that gap.
